Dear Supporters,
I am immensely proud of all that Mom2Mom has accomplished this past year, and we are endlessly grateful for the donors, volunteers, and other supporters who make it all possible. Seeing our community come together to support single moms and their families brings me joy and reinforces the true purpose of Mom2Mom.
We are profoundly humbled by the unwavering support of our donors, funders, and volunteers. Thank you for standing by us and the remarkable mothers and children we serve. The gratitude expressed by our families is so heartfelt, reflecting their deep appreciation for Mom2Mom.
As you review our 2023/24 Annual Report, I hope you will see the incredible difference you are making through your support of Mom2Mom. Our assistance is truly transforming lives through various means: fostering connections, providing financial assistance, offering emotional encouragement, supporting extracurricular programs, and organizing activities. This work is expertly guided and coordinated by our remarkable staff team.
To every member of our extraordinary community, thank you for helping us change lives for the next generation of children. This important work would be impossible without you, and we eagerly anticipate the continued impact we can achieve together.
Warmly,

Prior to joining Mom2Mom, Millie* was struggling to balance solo parenting and being a university student. “It was difficult trying to finish my degree but then also focus on being a mom,” she explains. “There’s just so much that comes with being the primary caregiver in every way and still being a somewhat healthy person myself so that I can be healthy for my son.”
Upon moving to Vancouver, this isolation only worsened. What Millie needed more than anything was a friend: someone who would listen without judgement and simply be there for her and her son.
That’s when a school counsellor connected her to Mom2Mom. Now, Millie has access to much-needed support, including a relationship volunteer.
Beyond the relationship with her volunteer, Millie is also thankful for other Mom2Mom programs such as our monthly grocery gift cards and financial support for children’s extracurricular activities.
“I feel supported in so many different ways,” Millie shares. “There’s certain places where the opportunities might be very singular, which is great but what I really value about Mom2Mom is it’s holistic…Emotionally, financially, there’s just so much support that really helps.”
Beyond the positive differences Millie has experienced since joining Mom2Mom, her son, Michael*, has also benefited.
From a young age, Michael has had a passion for baking. “When I was younger, I used to make cookies with my mom a lot. Chocolate chip were my favorite to make,” he recalls fondly.
To further cultivate his interest, Millie was able to send Michael to a cooking camp thanks to Mom2Mom’s Happy Healthy Children program. In addition, he received a large bag of flour, sugar, and other baking essentials through a holiday hamper last December.
Equipped with proper products and his new culinary skills, Michael began crafting his own recipes, inspired by the days he and his mom would bake together.
“The difference is that I would get Pillsbury!” Millie laughs. “He makes it from scratch, and I would cheat and buy the box.”
With a desire to put his recipes to good use, Michael started his own business selling baked goods to students and faculty at his school. Since then, the business has continued to grow, including catering orders for small events.
Michael’s goals go beyond personal gain, however; he has also pledged to donate a portion of his sales to Mom2Mom. At our recent summer picnic, he made his first donation to Mom2Mom’s grocery support program.
Mom2Mom provides moms like Millie with community and support, which positively impacts them and their children. The long-term effects of a supported mom who is empowered to show up for her children is life-changing.
Thank you for hearing Millie and Michael’s story.

As a single mom herself, Betty Wall understands the importance of community support.
“Even if you’re well-resourced, the hard part of being a single mother—beyond fulfilling those basic necessities—is having someone to talk to…someone to listen and bounce ideas off of.” - Betty
That’s one of the reasons she was drawn to Mom2Mom: the peer-to-peer support it offers to single moms in her community.
In addition, she was inspired by Mom2Mom’s grocery support program, which provides monthly grocery gift cards to Mom2Mom participants ranging from $200-300/month.
Indeed, 100% of Mom2Mom participants said that grocery gift cards are helpful in supporting their families. One mom specifically emphasized that the gift cards empower her to purchase fresh, nutritious food for her children.
“Access to nutritious food makes all the difference in the world,” Betty points out—and she’s right!
When children have access to ample nutritious food, they are more likely to have positive health and educational outcomes well into adulthood.
And thanks to generous donors like Betty, more than 120 children now benefit from monthly grocery support. In fact, 92% of participant moms said that their children are receiving better nutrition thanks to Mom2Mom’s support and resources.
Single moms living in poverty constantly face stressful decisions like choosing to pay rent and have a roof over her children’s heads, or buying groceries so her children can eat. Thanks to our Mom Squad Monthly Donors, we can prevent these brutal trade-offs by helping moms stock their fridges every month.
As Betty puts it, “Providing gift cards empowers women to make their own decisions for their families—it’s a hand up.”

**Rising inflation and interest rates have placed a burden on many, and Mom2Mom was not immune to these impacts. While we performed incredibly well, we did not meet all our fundraising goals. Thanks to strong financial management by our dedicated staff team and current and past board members, we were fortunate to use funding reserves to continue supporting our moms and their families without any cuts to our services.
